The installation of a reticulated radio receiving service, which was completed at the Otahuhu school during the recent vacation, was operated for the first time on Tuesday, when the educational session broadcast was enjoyed by the scholars. e The equipment is of the most modem type. The receiving set is installed in the headmaster’s study, and separate loud-speakers are connected to four of the main classrooms. The latter are independently controlled and may be turned on or off as desired. There is also a microphone installed in the headmaster’s room, by means of which talks and instruction may be given to pupils in all four main rooms simultaneously, or independently. An amplifier has also been provided for use in the playground when scholars are receiving instruction in massed drill or similar work.
