TARANAKI HOCKEY TEAM
RETURN FROM SOUTHERN TOUR. FOUR MATCHES OF FIVE WON. The Taranaki representative hockey team returned from its southern tour on Tuesday evening. Altogether . five matches were played Taranaki winning four and losing one. The wins were against Bush Union, Wairarapa, Wellington and Horowhenua, and the loss against Feilding. The manager of the team, Mr. E. Urry, speaks in the highest praise of the hospitality bestowed on the members at every town, and said all had a thoroughly enjoyable trip. The conduct of the team was excellent. The team comprised A. Bennett, A. Ryan, Clarke, J. Barker, N. Simon, A. Jones, G. Cruickshank, R. Duncan, V. Betts Pascoe, Hale, S. Tiplady, M. Thompson, McGlashan, Howartson and Windle. Mr. J. Ebbett was referee.
