NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

Excellent displays of the game were witnessed at the New Zealand table tennis championship tournament to-night. The finals resulted:—
Men’s singles: Cheal /Auckland) beat F. Paton (Auckland), 20—22, 21—16, 16-21, 21-17, 21—18. Women’s singles: Miss E. Masters (Wellington) beat Miss L. Hughes (Pal-
merston North), 21—14, 21—18. Men’s doubles: C. F. Williams and H. D. Kennedy (Wellington) beat Cheal and Pyle, 21—15, 15-21, 21-16, 21—17.
Women’s doubles: Misses M. Williams and M. Hollis (Wellington) beat Misses Smyth and MacGregor, 21—12, 21—18,
Combined doubles: R. Dennis (Wanganui) and Miss Hughes beat Williams and Miss Williams, 21—19, 21—19.
