INGLEWOOD CYCLE RACE
30 MILES COURSE TO WAIWAKAIHO.
• The Inglewood Cycle Club continued its series of road races on Thursday with a race to Waiwakaiho and back, a distance of 30 miles. Nine riders faced the starter. The limit men made a good pace on the down trip and the back-markers gained very little. E. Standing developed chain trouble and Fussell and Reeve caught Bennett at the aerodrome. Reeve dropped back at the turn and Bennett and Fussell, riding well, caught the limit riders about two miles from home. In a good sprint Kennedy beat Bennett by .i wheel, with Fussell half a wheel further back third.
The placings were: R. Kennedy (8m) 1, N. Bennett (6m) 2, F. Fussell (4m) 3. F. Fussell gained fastest time.
