GERMANY AND BRITISH EXPORTERS LANCASHIRE OPPOSES PROPOSAL. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.15 p.m. London, Sept. 10. Germany made definite proposals to the Lancashire cotton delegation of the early payment of £500,000 debts to British yarn exporters by means of the'barter system, but Lancashire does not favour the proposal as it would require the establishment of a special exchange at Manchester. Moreover, cotton firms lack the expert knowledge necessary to market the various commodities successfully.
