OKATO CRICKET CLUB
ELECTION OF OFFICERS. At the annual meeting of the Okato Cricket Club in the Hempton Hall Mr. A. P. Edwards presided over an attendance of 16. The chairman congratulated members on the results of the season. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £lO 17s lid. Congratulations were extended to Mr. H. C. Paul on his selection for the B representatives. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. A. P. Edwards; president, Mr. H. T. Paul; vice-presidents, nine were elected; committee, Messrs. R. Andrews, H. Roberts, H. Paul, Hodge, Edwards and Taylor; secretary, Mr. J. E. Larking. The secretary was voted an honorarium of £1 Is. It was decided to open the season on September 22, and in the meantime to arrange working bees to re-lay the pitch. A donation of £1 10s was made to the domain board. Subscriptions were reduced to 5s after some discussion. It was decided to enter a team in the B grade competitions, Mr. T. E. Larking being made sole selector. Members expressed the hope that the club exchange week-end matches. A vote of thanks was accorded the women for their assistance. Mesdames Edwards and Putt were appointed to convene a women’s committee for the ensuing season.
