INCREASE IN SHIPPING
EXPERIENCE IN BRITAIN. 4 PER CENT ADVANCE SHOWN. (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Aug. 3. A shipping return shows that during the 12 months ended on June 30 the net registered tonnage of ships which entered and left ports in the United Kingdom totalled 342,592,677, representing an increase of 14,412,895 tons, or 4.4 per cent, over that of the previous 12 months. Ships using the Port of London were of a total net register tonnage of 58,004,896, an increase of 3,606,776, or 6.7 per cent over the previous 12 months. Liverpool, the next largest port, had 33,348,783 net register tons, an increase of 5.1 per cent.
