VICAR’S ADVICE TO SON IN WILL.

A strong protest against the hardships the Church of England imposes on the clergy, and a warning to his son not to take holy orders, are contained in the will of the Rev. John Bennet, vicar of Boddington, Kent, who left £555. He says his son should not enter the Church unless he has a private income or, alternatively, is satisfied he has a vocation to celibacy and the ability to endure the most extreme poverty which the Anglican saints expect. _ “The Apostles might rejoice at having nothing but possessing all things,” the will adds, “but possessing nothing while seeming to have everything is a fraud and a curse to the Church of England and thousands of devoted men and women in her parson-x,es.
