Dr. G. Home and Miss J. Home have left New Plymouth en route to the islands for a short holiday. Mr F E. Morris was re-elected- chairman of'the Royal Oak Dairy Company on Saturday night.
Brigadier-General W. R. McNicholl, a member of the New South Wales House of Representatives, has been appointed Administrator of New Guinea, states a Sydney cable.
Mr. W. lorns, Martinborough, chairman of the Dairy Produce Board, who has been in a private hospital at Hamilton for the past six weeks, is now convalescent. He expects to return to his home this week.
The death occurred this morning of Mr. Humphrey O’Leary in his 83rd year, reports the Press Association. He was a resident of Masterton for nearly 50 years and was for 24 years a borough councillor. He was a notable figure in the life of Masterton.
The death of Mr. William Henry Ballinged, aged 75, a champion rifle shot, is reported in a Wellington Press Association message. Mr. Ballinger won the New Zealand championship twice and represented New Zealand at Bisley in 1902. He was a foundation member of the Petone Rifle Club. _ He was also keenly interested in racing and was a member of the Wellington Racing Club for over 30 years.
