OTANGIWAI CARD EVENING
FLAG FIVE HUNDRED PLAYED. A large number attended the . weekly five hundred evening at Otangiwai on Friday, 11 tables being occupied. The winning table was that of Mrs. Rutherford, Miss E. McDougall and Messrs. G. Rutherford and C. McDougall. Consolation prizes were awarded to Messrs.' W. Devlin, T. Brown, A. McDougall and W. Raitt. After supper had been served by the committee dancing was held, Mrs. E. C. Thomas, Mrs. J. Higgle and Mr. W. Rumsby playing the music. During the evening a presentation was made by the hall committee to Mrs. E. C. Thomas in appreciation of the help given by her at the weekly evenings. A challenge from the Niho Niho people to a euchre tournament was accepted.
