The annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Hunt Club was held in fine but dull weather. The going was good. The totalisator handled £2512, compared with £2904 10s last year, a decrease of £392 10s. The results are:—
AWAPUNI HURDLES. Of £4O. One mile and a-half. 1— KAHUNOKE, 9.12 (Walsh) 1 3—VICTOR COLIMA, 9.0 (W. Gomm) 2 2— KINSEL, 10.9 3 The only starters. One length. Time, 2m. 51s.
WHATATUTU HACK FLAT. Of £35. One mile. 4— BING BOY, 10.7 (R. Russell) .... 1 5— GOLD STITCH, 10.9 (J. H. Allan) 2 2—BOTHWELL, 10.9 (W. J. Akurangi) 3 Also started: 1 Sunny Song 11.5, 3 Marching Song 10.9, 6 Wolsey 10.7. Half a length; half a length. Marching Song was fourth. Time, Im. 455.

FERGUSON GOLD CUP STEEPLES. Of £7O. Two miles and a-half.
1— CAPELLA ABBEY, 10.7 (Clements) 1 2— NEW FERRY, 10.9 (Walsh) 2 3— RUSSETT MOOR, 10.13 (Stratton). 3 Also started: 4 Jim Quin 10.9, 5 Gloria 10.7.
New Ferry and Jim Quin led for over half the distance. Then Jim Quin tookcharge. At the second jump three furlongs from home Jim Quin missed the jump. New Ferry came on well but Capella Abbey wore him down in the final run, winning by a neck, with Russet Moor four lengths back third. Gloria was fourth. Time, sm. 21 4-ss. At an. inquiry held into Jim Quin missing the jump the stewards found, after hearing evidence, that the occurrence was accidental.
