CHEUNG KNOCKED OUT
MAMOS’ VIOLENT EXHIBITION.
CHINESE AWARDED DECISION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, June 2. Rough-house tactics featured a professional wrestling bout in Napier last night in which Wong Buck Cheung (China) gamed a decision over Harry Mamos (Greece). Hair pulling, nose pulling, punching, kicking and elbow and knee jolting were the methods adopted during the contest, in which the Greek was loudly booed frequently.
In the seventh round Mamos came out looking for trouble and commenced to swing punches to Cheung’s face and jaw, knocking the Chinese out. The referee then awarded the bout to Cheung. Mamos in the fourth round gained a fall following a series of headlocks, but Cheung equalled in the fifth with a flying body scissors.
