LEPPERTON PUBLIC HALL
IMPROVEMENTS COMPLETED. The Lcpperton hall committee, thanks to the support of residents of the district, has just completed improvements that will be greatly appreciated, particularly by the ladies who handle the supper arrangements at community gatherings. The improvements include the addition of a commodious and comfortable kitchen, equipped with conveniences for expeditious and efficient handling. The kitchen, which adjoins the supper room, is 22ft long by lift wide and is finished with a rimu dado about 7ft 6jn high, with white fibrous plaster panelled extension and ceiling. There is also plenty of accommodation in the way ot cupboards, benches and shelving, with adequate provision for washing and drying the dishes, while two service hatches, opening on to the supper room, one for issuing the full dishes and the other for receiving the “empties,” further tends to quick handling. There is also provision for ample supplies of hot water, while an open fireplate will ensure that the work is carried out in comfort on the coldest of nights. Other improvements include lining the supper room and the provision of a fireplace in the men s dressing room.
