HURFORD ROAD NEWS
PERSONAL AND GENERAL. A large crowd was present at the third euchre party in the Hurford Road hall, 17| tables being occupied. The winners were Miss Maisie Berridge and Mrs. N. Jury, who tied for first place, and Master E. Green (Koru). . A meeting of members of the Waireka Yards Association was held on Monday night to consider the. winding up and liquidation of the association. It was decided to call tenders for the purchase of the yards, shed and scales. A long night dance organised by the basketball club was held in the hair on Wednesday, when there was a large attendance. The net proceeds amounted to about £3. • Music for the dance was supplied by Mr. F. Williams’ orchestra and Mr. T. Allsopp played an extra. Mr. T. Ryan was master of ceremonies. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss W. Marsh and Mr. A. Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. P. Johnson. Confetti and streamer dances added to the enjoyment of the evening. A euchre party was held for nondancers, eight tables being engaged, the winners being Mrs. J. Lynch and Mr. A. Hoffman. The organising committee was Misses D. Vickers, N. Berridge, M. Berridge, D. Higgins, I. and W. Marsh, M. and T. Schrider and L. Maloney.
