MASTERTON DOUBLE WEDDING.

A double wedding which aroused interest throughout New Zealand took place recently at St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton. The brides were Roma and Margaret, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Jackson, “Valdor,” Kopuaranga. Last year Mrs. Jackson was Dominion president of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Miss Roma Jackson, who was married to Mr. Leigh Gooch, son of Mr. J. H. Gooch, late of Lond i, was attended by Miss Edith Bennett as bridesmaid, and Mr. John Latten, Hastings, was best man. Miss Margaret Jackson was attended by Miss Marjory Kenny at her marriage to Mr. Max Kenny, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Kenny, Picton, and Mr. Ivan Jackson,. the bride’s brother, was best man. Both brides wore beige rose gowns finished with a velvet bow at the back, and long pink tulle veils. Their two little nephews (Rodney and David Carter), were pages. The Rev. E. J. Rich, vicar of St. Matthews’, performed the ceremony, and Mrs. F. J. Hunn was the organist. A reception was held afterwards at the home of the brides, and in the evening Mrs. Jackson entertained guests at a dance in the Kopuaranga hall.
