ELTHAM JUBILEE BALL

SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL EVENT LIST OF THOSE PRESENT. The jubilee ball at Eltham was the most magnificent that has ever taken place there, the presence of the Prime Minister and Mrs. Forbes and the presentation of debutantes making the event one of unusual interest. The hall was strikingly decorated, and with bright frocks of the dancers made a spectacle that will long be remembered by those present. On the platform, converted into a large lounge, was the Ministerial party and specially invited guests. Betty Bridger presented a bouquet to Mrs. Forbes, who wore a black figured lace frock and cape, over which was worn a black fur cloak. Mrs. I. J. Bridger (Mayoress) wore a smartly-cut wind-swept satin frock and tangerine coatee. Lady Carncross wore a model frock of black chenille velvet, with silver beads and embroidered cloak. Mrs. C. A. Wilkinson was : in whit chenille velvet and scarlet cape. Mrs. J. Gibb (mayoress of Inglewood) wore wine panne velvet, Mrs. J. W. McMillan (mayoress of Stratford) was in black lace and coatee, Mrs. J. E. Campbell (mayoress of Hawera) wore midnight blue ring velvet, Mrs. T. B. Crump, black lace and black fur cloak, Mrs. W. M. Peacock (chairwoman of the ball committee) black georgette and lace and black velvet coat with white fur collar.
