A sensational accident happened at Sutherland to-day when a motor-lorry on which was a huge petrol tank struck an electric light pole. The vehicle overturned and the petrol burst into flames. The driver,’ Mr. Ernest Yabsley, aged 23 years, was thrown clear and was uninjured, but he had to be dragged away from the burning lorry.

The police later discovered the charred remains of Peter McMahon, aged* 22, beneath the wreckage.'
