MEETING OF ANGLICAN CIRCUIT. PLUNKET SOCIETY DANCE. The annual meeting of the Church of England Pihafna Circuit was held in the Pihama hall On Monday night. The Rev. Farnell presided over a large attendance of parishioners, and In moving the adoption of the balance-sheet congratulated them on the financial position, a sum of £5 still standing In credit after a donation of £3O to the Opunake church. Mr. Purnell, in his report, thanked all who had assisted both in and out of the district. The following were elected to the committee: Messrs. A. Petty; R. Hunt and R. Julian (secretary). The following ladies Will form a social committee: Mesdames E. Harrop, T. G. Corkill, S. Cooke and S. Forsyth. It Was’ decided to organise a Series of euchre parties to raise funds for the circuit. The Pihama hall was well filled on Tuesday evening when the members of the Plunket Society held a dance to raise funds for the nurse’s car. The music was supplied by J ack Hooker s | merrymakers. Messrs. A. C. Walker and E. P. Riley were masters Of ceremonies. Extras were played by Misses M. Glen.garry' and I. Elliason, and Messrs. N. Martin, M. Whalen and Jack Hooker. The old and modern dance competition was won by Mrs. W. Evans and L. Purvis with 166 points. Miss B. Crozier and E. Riley were second with 163 points and Miss M. Glengarry and L. Whalen third with 160 points. Monte Carlo dances were won by A. McHanigan and Mrs. A. Clarke, M. Freeyne and Miss A. CoPaglen. The following ladies assisted: Mesdames J. Stevenson, E., Riley, E. Harrop, T. G. Corkill, E. Hall, M. Allan, W. Cook, C. Radford, W. and J. D. Conaglen, J. S. Tosland and T. Carey.
