RECORD CATTLE SALE
TOTAL EXCEEDS 12,500 GWAVAS STUD DISPERSAL. Dannevirke, April 27. Tire Gwavas Aberdeen Angus dispersal sale, which was concluded to-day, set a fresh Dominion record for beef cattle, the total realisations exceeding 12,500gn5. Australian buyers met with keen opposition to-day, but succeeded in buying .the great royal ’champion and sire, Sumach of Gwavas, who, despite the fact he is rising six years, was bought by Pitt, Son and Badgery for 220gns Massey Agricultural College-bought the other outstanding sire, Hqri of Tav.taue, two years older, for 170gns, while Acute of Akitio, a sire of the same age, was bought by Mr. A. P. Sherriff, of Taihape. One hundred and forty-one yearling bulls averaged five, realising over three figures apiece. Yearling heifers a'lso met with an : outstanding sal?, several making close to three-'figures, while the supreme champion heifer at the last Royal Show, Alma of Gwavas, realised 125gns. i
