ACTOR DEFIES GOVERNMENT
GERMAN MARRIED TO A JEWESS. FIRM CANCELS HIS CONTRACT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March 30. The Daily Express’ Berlin correspondent states that Hans Albers, the handsome blue-eyed stage screen idol, described as the German Valentino, defied the Government and married Hansi Berg, a pretty Jewish actress. When a film director came and told him that he must not be seen with Hansi, Albers without words threw the director out of the fiat. The next day Hans and Hansi motored to Prague and were married, and returned to face a storm. The Ufa film firm immediately cancelled Albers’ high salary contract and Albers is unlikely ever to be allowed to appear in a German film again,' though he is appearing on the stage.
