Great Britain imported 7,750,000 ounces of gold each year, Mr. S. G. Holland told the Canterbury Advertising Club last week, and the greater part of it came from within the Empire. While 6,500,000 ounces came from Empire countries only 1,250,000 ounces came from other parts of the world. The reverse was the case with silver, 1,000,000 ounces being imported from within the Empire and 55,000,000 ounces from foreign countries.
