The weather was perfect and attendance large for the opening day of the Feilding meeting. The track was excellent and the fields good except for •ne race. Bodyline and Palm challenged without hustling the leader, who finished easily to win by two and a-half lengths, with Rollovant a neck away third. Aussie Ra was fourth. Time, Im, 2 2-ss. Ida Merling led from the barrier rise, followed by Farmer, Senegal and Emotion.
