MOST EFFICIENT SHELL
PERFECTED BY BRITISH FIRM. EFFECTIVE AT 15,000 YARDS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March 28. Hadfields Limited have perfected what is claimed to be the most efficient shell in the world. It is a 15-inch shell, weighs a ton and can be fired through armour-plate inclined 30 degrees, which is one of the severest tests known. Though the shell carried away 6Jcwt of highly-tempered steel, yet it retained sufficient velocity to continue for 10 miles. Whereas the ordinary shell is effective at 12,000 yards, the new projectile is efficient at 15,000 yards. SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW WINNER OF DISTRICT EXHIBIT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, March 29.
