FUNERAL MARCH OMITTED
ANZAC DAY CENOTAPH SERVICE. “TRIUMPH IS THE KEYNOTE.” By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, March 29. The executive of the Wellington Returned soldiers’ Association decided last night to omit the Funeral March from the Anzac Day service at the cenotaph this year. It was pointed out that the Funeral March was not included in the Anzac Day service in Sydney and elsewhere. ‘The keynote of the ceremony is surely not one of gloom, but rather of triumph,” said the chairman, Colonel Cowles, whose remark found general acceptance.
