JERSEY CATTLE CLUB
QUESTION OF DEMONSTRATION. A meeting of the New Plymouth Jersey Cattle Club was held on Thursday, Mr H C. Sampson presiding over Messrs. G. H. Bell, E. Griffiths, Petersen, Luxton and Salway. In connection with Jersey Week the secretary was instructed to supply information and to send a copy of the conditions to Mr. J. K. Macintosh. The chairman reported the cost of the fence and ring was £l5. Mr. Bell donated £5 to the cost and members accorded him a vote of thanks. Mr. Luxton raised the question of a demonstration at Mr. Petersen’s farm and said that the finance would have to be watched. He would like to see the demonstration, though he thought it was a little late. The club must watch the exIt was decided that Saturday, April 14 should be the day and a general invitation was extended. Mr. Petersen undertook to arrange seating, and the question *of catering was left in his and the secretary’s hands. The programme and demonstrators will be as follow: 11 to 12, questions, to be answered by Messrs. Bell, Sampson and Petersen; 12 to 1, luncheon; 1 to 1.30, talk by Mr. Bell; 1.30 onwards, judging competitions. . In connection with the sale it was reported that Mr. J. Hale would sell his 2-year-old heifers in conjunction .with the club sale. He would come in on the draw as usual, or sell all at the end of the sale.
