COLLISION OF TWO TRAINS
PASSENGERS ESCAPE INJURY. STEEL CARS STAND SHOCK. British Wireless.- Rugby, March .28. A mishap occurred at Doncaster during a dense fog early this morning when a London and North Eastern Railway night express ran into another express, which had left London for the same destination seven minutes earlier. Three mail vans and a brake-van were derailed. No passengers nor any of the train’s crew were hurt, and the trains proceeded after 58 minutes’ delay. The cause of the accident is under investigation. , , , The escape from injury of the hundreds of passengers travelling in the trains involved was due to the fact that the steel frames of the coaches bore the shock of the impact.
