BAN ON “CATHERINE THE GREAT.” NEGOTIATIONS NOW IN PROGRESS. (British Officia Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, March 29. Answering a Parliamentary question in reference to the banning in Germany of the British film “Catherine the Great” after it had passed the censor, Sir John Simon said the Federation of British Industries, acting on behalf of the producers of the film, are engaged in correspondence with competent German authorities with a view to reconsideration of the ban. He also had called the attention of the German Embassy to the cage and expressed the hope that correspondence in progress might lead to a satisfactory settlement.
