MAIL CONTRACTS SCANDAL
STOCK SOLD BEFORE CRASH.
EVIDENCE TAKEN BY SENATE.

The president (Mr. Whitney) of the New York Stock Exchange testified before the Senate investigating committee to-day that the J. P. Morgan Company sold 4500 shares in United Aircraft just before the air mail contracts were cancelled, all aviation shares thereafter falling sharply. Various other sales were made similarly by other individuals and companies, but the Morgan company was the most prominent among them.
