AMATEUR ATHLETICS
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club was held last night, when there were present Messrs. C. H. Crocker (in the chair), L. E. Fox, W. J. Reid, N. C. Batten, N. J. Webster, N. Comber, C. H. Stephenson, Dr. Thomson and Mr. H. J. Goudie (hon. secretary). Considerable discussion took place on the question of cyclists under the new organisation, but In the absence of any definite information it was decided to take no action for the present It was decided to convene a general meeting of members to discuss the advisability of taking the necessary steps to form a Taranaki centre. The Eltham club is to be asked to run the Taranaki secondary school 100 yards championship at the special meeting for the Australian athletes on March 21.
