TROUBLE WITH MILK SCHEME
BRITISH FARMERS DUMP SURPLUS. EFFECT ON DOMINIONS’ POSITION. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Feb. 8.
The financial News says that the milk control scheme is causing trouble, the increased retail price enabling farmers to sell their surplus to cheese factories at a dumped price. “Mr. W. E. Elliott, Minister of Agriculture,” the paper adds, “is already out of patience with the Dominions’ reluctance to, reduce dairy produce shipments. Is he now going to bully the Dominions anew to make more room for English subsidised cheese?”
