AUCKLAND BOOT STORE FIRE

DAMAGE ESTIMATED TO BE £6OO. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Feb. 7. Damage estimated at £6OO was done by a fire which broke out early this morning in the City Boot Store, Karangahape Road. Firemen used a door for a forcing device and a sledge hammer to open the front door, which had been recently strengthened against burglars and, in five minutes from the time the alarm was given, had two leads playing on the flames. Other stock on the shelves was undamaged. The stock was insured with Lloyds.
