MOKAU AMATEUR ATHLETICS
GENERAL AND PERSONAL I|EWS.
A general meeting of the Tainui Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club was held in the Mokau Hall on Thursday evening, to discuss the advisability of holding a special sports meeting shortly. Mr. D. Rikihana presided over a fair attendance of members. Owing to the lack of enthusiasm shown by the majority of the financial members, no definite decision could be made. It was now decided to write to the secretary of the Taranaki Amateur Athletic Association for full particulars to register as an amateur athletic sports club. The guests at the Tainui Private Hotel for the Christmas holidays included: Mr. and Mrs. Gordon and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C. Bottrell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Barnham and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter and son, Mr. and Mrs. Haim and daughter, Mrs. Bottrell, sen., Mrs. Davie and family (New Plymouth), Miss E. Dredge, Mr. T. Dick (Hawera), Mrs. I. E. Wilkie (Wellington), Miss T. Mcwhinney (Blenheim). Mrs. Fisher, Urenui, is the guest of Mrs. N. Clifton. Mr. and Mrs. W. Bell, Napier, are visiting Mokau. Mr. and Mrs. Bell, Mokau, are visiting Auckland. Mrs. A. Sampson has returned from a short visit to Okau. Miss D. Walker and M. Willis, New Plymouth, have been the guests of Mrs. E. Sampson, Mokau River. ' Miss Coral Randall, Stratford, has been spending a few days with her parents at Mokau River.
Mrs. S. Whitehead has returned- from a short visit to New Plymouth. Mr. S. Agar has returned to Wellington.
