FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT
NEW PLYMOUTH .GIRL KILLED. CAR SKIDS AT WANGANUI. Facial and bodily injuries received when a motor-car skidded and overturned at Warrengate on Thursday resulted in the death of Miss Margaret Johnston in the .Wanganui Public Hospital that night. Miss Johnston was a daughter’ of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Johnston, Fitzroy. The funeral took place at the Te Henui cemetery, New Plymouth, on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. J. D. Grocott conducting the service. The car contained Miss Johnston, Mrs. Shenton, Wanganui, and two children. Mrs. Shenton, who received superficial cuts and bruises, was removed to the hospital with Miss Johnston. The children suffered only minor cuts. Miss Johnston’s parents were in the following car and' rounded a bend to find the first vehicle overturned.
An inquest was opened before Mr. J. .H. Salmon, S.M., district coroner, and was adjourned.
