F. L. HARTNELL DEFEATED
ROSS RETAINS CROQUET TITLE. DOMINION TOURNAMENT FINALS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Jan. 27. In the remaining croquet finals Ross was again in the form that has made him champion many times. He had no difficulty in beating Hartnell in the final of the second life of the men’s championship. As he had already won the other life in the final, Ross again became the title-holder. Mrs. Caldow played a steady game and beat Mrs. C. Watkins in the final of the first' life of the women’s championship. Details are:— Men’s championship:—Final: A. G. P. Ross (Dunsandel) beat F. L. Hartnell (New Plymouth) 26 —10. Women’s championship:—First life final: Mrs. W. B. Caldow (Wellington) beat Mrs. C. Watkins (Hastings). Handicap singles:—Final: Mrs. Gilbert (Westport) beat G. Hart (Timaru) 26-17.
