POSTPONED SHIELD MATCH SURPRISE WIN FOR PARITUTU. NEW PLYMOUTH TEAM BEATEN. Paritutu created a surprise when it defeated New Plymouth in a postponed shield bowling match at Paritutu on Saturday. URENUI PAIRS TOURNAMENT. There were good entries for a progressive pairs tournament at the Urenui bowling green during the week-end. Of the skips A. Patrick (New Plymouth) and T. Fowler (Waitara) tied, Fowler winning on the aggregate of the first two games. G. Fuller (Urenui) and C. Dugdale (Waitara) tied for the leads, Fuller being victorious on the aggregate of the first two games. PARK DEFEATS AUROA. TWO-RINK, GAME ON PARK GREEN. Two teams from the Auroa Bowling Club visited the Park green, Hawera, on Saturday, Park winning in the aggregate, though each. club won one game. The scores are:— P. A. Squire (s) 29 beat Velvin, Spink, Shaw, Murray (s) 15. POSTPONED SHIELD GAMES. ARRANGEMENTS FOR PLAY. The postponed shield match in the Wednesday section of the southern division between Park and Hawera will be played on the Park green on Wednesday. If Hawera .wins, Hawera, Park and Opunake will be level, otherwise Park will win outright. In the Saturday section Hawera No. 1 and Park will play at Park on February 17. A win to Park would give the club this section also, otherwise these two teams will tie. On the same day Hawera No. 2 and Patea will play at Patea.
