New South Wales continued its remarkable first innings against Victoria in the Sheffield Shield match yesterday, declaring at 4 o’clock with 672 for eight wickets. Brown, who was dismissed 1.b.w., made 205. Fingleton, who resumed yesterday’s innings, made 145 and Rowe and Ghilvers, each run out made 42 each. McCormick took one wicket for 148, Ebeling one for 154, Ironmonger one for 86 and Fleetwood-Smith two for 178. Victoria reached 98 for one wicket (O’Brien 16, Woodftil not out 61, Rigg not out 21).
