FLAX FROM NEW ZEALAND
LARGE ORDER FOR SINGAPORE. NEW PLYMOUTH FIRM TO SUPPLY. An order from Singapore for 40,000 New Zealand flax plants has been received by the New Plymouth nursery firm of Duncan and Davies Ltd. If the shipment proves successful, a further order for 100,000 plants is expected from the same source. Arrangements have been made with the owners of a flax plantation at Gordonton, Waikato, to supply the present order. Workmen are now engaged in digging and crating the plants, which will be shipped from Auckland on February 3.
