FAITH IN GOLD STANDARD
BANK OF FRANCE REPORT. THE NEED FOR STABILISATION. By Telegraph-Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 10 p.m. Paris, Jan. 26. The report of the Bank of France for 1933 reaffirms faith in the gold standard and asserts that a revival of international trade is impossible until the major currencies are stabilised. The report urges the cheapening of long-term credit and a reduction in production costs, to which the Government must contribute by lowering taxes.
