Miss Belle-’McKay has returned from a holiday spent in the north. Mrs. R. Macßae returned on Wednesday from Riverton, Southland, where she has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Evans. Mrs. Lampshire is spending a holiday at New Plymouth. Miss J. Hale is spending a holiday at the New Plymouth beach. Miss A. Coyne, who has been the guest of Miss T. Maxwell, has returned home to Makahu. Mrs. C. W. Morey was a visitor to New Plymouth during the week.. Mrs. W. Harris spent a few days at New Plymouth during the week. Mrs. W. H. Rudkin is spending a holiday at New Plymouth. Miss L. McCready is holiday-making at Patea. Mrs. L. Sole was the guest of her mother, Mrs. J. Armstrong, Waitara, last week-end. Mrs. F. T. Hale is spending a holiday at a New Plymouth beach. Miss Frances Tox is the guest of Mrs. P. Thomson. Miss Marton, Hamilton, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Eason. Mrs. G. Hall is holiday-making at Urenui. . Mrs. Graeme Holder, Auckland, was a visitor to Stratford during the week. Miss V. Wallace, formerly of the Stratford hospital nursing staff, Igft on Thursday for Napier, where she will commence duties at the public hospital. Mrs. R. B. Chapman, Matau, is staying with her mother, Mrs. W. A. Wiggins, Stratford. Miss G. North, who returned from Marton last week, is camping with a party of friends at Urenui. On Wednesday Mrs. B. Bellringer gave an afternoon for some of her friends. Those present were Mesdames Frances, Eason, Ebbet, Thomas and Miss Marton (Hamilton). A dance was held in the parish hall last nig..:, when friends of Miss Max Skoglund were entertained. After supper a presentation was made to Miss Skoglund. The Bums’ night held in the Medina on Wednesday was well attended. Amongst those present were Mesdames. T. Smith, P. Thomson, W. Liddel, McAlister, Dr. Doris Gordon, J. Morrison, B. Bellringer, P. Joblin (Raetihi), R. McBeth, R. Kilpatrick, Johnson, Misses Corrigan (Hawera), F. Fox (Hawera) and Galbraith.
