PROPHECY OF GENERAL O’DUFFY. POLICY RUINING AGRICULTURE. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Dublin, Jan. 14. General O’Duffy, speaking at Lismore, prophesied an election in March. He declared that the Irish were weary of Mr. de Valera’s empty promises. Mr. de Valera, in the event of an election, must settle the issue of economic war beforehand and go to the country on that basis. The present policy was ruining agriculture and pauperising the people. Commandant Cronin, wearing a Blue Shirt uniform under his overcoat, appeared on a platform and denied that he was on the run. He was ready if the authorities want to arrest him, he said. The Civic Guards, however, remained motionless.
