The Daily Herald’s Paris correspondent says that alleged' serious faults have been discovered which may render France’s chain of super-forts on the eastern frontier useless. ' . The forts extend 150 miles, and cost £30,000,000, but it is reported that instead of the concrete being a yard thick as ordered it is only half a yard and large cracks are already appearing. There was no adequate inspection of work and material when the work was carried our. Hence the alleged scandal, which is causing M. Daladier, the Minister of War, to send three military inspectors to investigate.
