HELP FOR STOCK INSPECTOR.

APPOINTMENT AT STRATFORD. Following representations made by. the Stratford executive of the Farmers’ ' Union for assistance to be given the stock inspector at Stratford (Mr. W. Harris), advice was received yesterday to the effect that Mr. C. Till (Strafford) had been appointed as assistant to Mr. Harris for the duration of the noxious weed season. Mr. Till will attend to matters connected with weeds, leaving Mr. Harris to devote his time to other branches of his work. . The suggestion that Mr. Harris should have assistance was made at the November meeting of the Stratford executive of the Farmers’ Union and a reply was received at the December meeting from the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. .C. E. Macmillan, who said the funds of the Department of Agriculture would not permit of an additional inspector being appointed to Strafford. The executive again urged the necessity for some action being taken, and yesterday’s advio* was the result. _ ■
