TOYS FOR POOR CHILDREN
JUNIOR RED CROSS EFFORT.
PROVINCIAL-WIDE RESPONSE.
In furtherance of a special effort to collect toys for distribution to children whose parents are in poor circumstances which has been made for some time by the members of the Junior Red Cross circles in Tarana'ki schools have been dressing dolls and collecting toys to send to Sister Corkill at the New Plymouth branch of the society. Through the efforts of these junior members a great display of toys is at the New Plymouth Red Cross rooms. Parcels have been received from branches'as far distant as Ahititi and Rahotu. The Red Cross Society has decided to make the distribution of the toys on Christmas Eve in order to give ’‘Santa Claus” an opportunity of apportioning the large number of gifts.
