FOURTEEN PEOPLE KILLED
RUSSIAN TRAIN ACCIDENT
STATIONARY CARS SMASHED
HURLED OVER EMBANKMENT
TWO FILLED BY CHILDREN
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Warsaw, Dec. 15.
Fourteen people were killed and 80 others, most of whom were children, were injured when a train leaving the Fosen station crashed into a stationary train awaiting a starting signal on the same line.
Two of the stationary coaches, which were filled with children, were hurled over an embankment. Another was suspended in mid-air. The accident is believed to be due to a signalman’s omission to warn the moving train of the presence of the first, which the driver was unable to see owing to fog.
