SCHOOL END-OF-YEAR CONCERT.

EXCELLENCE OF PROGRAMME.

The hall at Kaimiro was filled for the school breaking-up ceremony. A splendid and varied concert programme was given by the children, who displayed marked ability and did credit to the. head teacher (Miss G. Bayly) and her assistant (Miss M. Armstrong). A feature was the suitability of the songs and items selepted for the children’s voices. .The eurythmic dancing, which has become a feature of the school curriculum, showed wonderful ease and grace; Joyce. Shoe!mark’s performance was outstanding. Special lighting effects installed by Mr. Patterson, Inglewood, assisted by Mr. Sutherland, and controlled by Mr. Patterson, added considerably to the success of the concert.

At the conclusion of the concert the chairman of the school committee, Mr. C. M. Munt, presented the prizes and every child received a present from the Christmas tree which was under the management of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union with Mrs. Pope, the president, officiating. The adults then commenced their dance while the children were entertained at supper. The headteacher in her report stated th< roll number was 39 and the average attendance 36. It would appear doubtful whether the school could retain its grade.
