HISTORIC FOUNTAIN
ROME RELIC REMOVED.
CITIZENS ASTONISHED.
Rome, November 4.
The citizens of Rome were astonished this morning to find that one of the most famous relics of ancient Rome had been removed over-night. It was the outcome of Signor Mussolini’s capacity for “hustling.” The relic was the brick-core fountain erected by’ .the Emperor Domitan near the Coliseum. Signor Mussolini decided that, water should again flow from the fountain, but inspection showed that it obstructed the approach to the newlyrestored Triumphal Way. ,
Therefore, after 1900 years, it was suddenly removed.
