REVIVAL IN BUSINESS

ABSORPTION OF SCHOOL PUPILS. FORTY AT STRATFORD THIS YEAR A brightening in business accompanied by a demand for employees is manifested by the fact that since the end of last year 39 pupils of the Stratford Technical High School have obtained employment “It is interesting to note, that the roll has gradually decreased since the first term and most of those who have left are in paid positions,” said the principal (Mr. A. H. R. Amess) in his report last night to the monthly meeting of the board. Since the close of last year pupils secured employment as follow: Girls, offices 3, shop assistants 3, dental , nurse 1, total 7; boys, offices 10, shop assistants 6, trades 10, farms 6, total 32. The way in which pupils were being absorbed spoke very well for the school, suggested Mr. N. B. Fletcher. In times like the present for their school to be placing scholars continually in regular employment was highly satisfactory. He had been in conversation with employers of boys just left the school, said Mr. A. Ferguson, and in every instance they had been perfectly satisfied.
