Mrs. N. H. Moss has returned from a holiday visit to Wellington. Miss Taylor, Auckland, has taken up residence with her nephew, the Rev. McFarlane, at the vicarage. Mr. S. Pitt has returned from a holiday spent at Auckland. Mrs. G. Hall entertained friends at contract bridge on Monday night. Mrs. L. J. Furrie was at home on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Jones and Miss Jones, Auckland, are the guests of Mrs. Amess. Mrs. and Miss Patterson, Oamaru, who have been the guests of Mrs. Patterson’s sister, Mrs. A. Hugo, have left for the south. Mrs. W. Spray, who has been the guest of Mrs. H. Huckstep, has returned to her home at Kaimata. Mrs. P. Hom is a visitor to Ohura and is the guest of Mrs. Dougherty. Mrs. C. Francis left on Wednesday for Whangarei to visit her sister, who is seriously ill. .Mrs. B. Armstrong was hostess at a bridge party on Wednesday evening. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. McDonald, Mr. and Miss Porrit, Mr and Mrs. McLean, Mr and Mrs. Carter, Mr. and Mrs. R. Tyrer. Mrs. Budge was a bridge hostess on Wednesday afternoon. Bellringer, New Plymouth, has been spending a few days with her daughter-in-law, Mrs. B. P. Bellringer, Orlando Street. Mrs. Thorpe has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. McLean entertained on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. R. Tyrer entertained a number of friends on Monday afternoon. Mrs. A. H. R. Kirkwood. The Stratford Mountain Club’s dance held in the Masonic Hall on Thursday night was a bright and enjoyable affair, there being a large attendance of members and friends.
