SCIENCE, ART AND ETHICS
“SOLOMON’S HOUSE" SUGGESTED.
WESTMINSTER ABBEY CEREMONY.

London, Sept. 24.
Canon Percy Dearmer, preaching in Westminster Abbey, urged a broader scientific outlook. It was immoral for scientists to say that they were unable to cease inventing more efficient explosives and poison gas. They should work for international peace and maintain the standard of scientific ethics. Both scientists and churches suffered from a sectarian narrow outlook. Canon Dearmer endorsed the British Association president’s suggestion of a “Solomon’s House” where specialists could serve humanity by religiously combining the powers of science, art and ethics.
