INJURY TO MOTOR-CYCLIST. A euchre party organised by Mr. R. G. Scown, in aid of the Patea Bowling Club, on Friday night was well attended, 16 tables being engaged. Visitors were present from Kakaramea and Patea. Prizes were won by Mrs. R. Douglas and Mr. Nelson Scown. Supper was served by the ladies, and music was supplied by Mrs. Douglas for the dance. Mr. T. Walker while riding from Patea on Friday night on a motor-cycle met with a rather serious accident. A dog rushed at the cycle, causing Mr. Walker to be thrown heavily to the asphalt. He suffered bruises and cuts about the face. Mr. Walker was conveyed to the Patea Hospital, where it was found necessary to insert six stitches in his face. The dog was killed in the collision. Mr. Noel Jackson, who has been visiting his sister, Mrs. Radley, returned to Wellington on Saturday. Miss Hannah Hurley is spending a holiday with her parents.
